You are kidding. The constant noise cheezy music ,cheering, whistle blowing. then the birthday jackpot which is not a new  full calender each day you have  a 1 in 366 chance in winning which doesn't seem too difficult to achieve but what happens if your birthday has already gone much earlier?
Plus it's on for a  massive 14 hrs a day. Each to their own. No wonder some people call it Freepoo.

Having spun round some of the other forums, I see that many feel that the death of M&M to be replaced with ITV Play is the beginning of the end of Freeview (I note that one person thought freeview should be renamed Quizview).

I for one will miss the choice that M&M offered, granted motorbikes and racing cars is not my thing, but it was nice to see progs like Police camera action, sweeny, minder, auf v pet (can't spell that one!!).

"Play" is aimed at the gulible, we often complain on these forums of the cheapness of some of our TV, but this is so downmarket it is beyond me.

I hope that people will follow the example that many are going to follow, and that is to delete Play (and Quizcall for that matter) from their EPG's and complain loudly at ITV.

At the risk of repeating what may have been entered elsewhere have a lok at http://kickme.to/savemm and contact ITV (email address on that webpage).

I can almost imagine some of the replys that this message will get, I can see things like you can't change the might of ITV etc. But at least I tried and I asked others to try!

One of my mum's favorite sayings is 'you get what you pay for'. Freeview is free so there are bound to be consequences. British TV business model was based on ITV1 & Channel 4 sharing the TV advertising revenue. Adding more FTA channels has unbalanced that model & we end up with this Freeview line-up. To get free-to-air channels like ITV3 & E4, they have to somehow pay for the programming & the expensive carriage.
I don't object to the quiz channels. We are a nation of gamblers with scratchcards available from the corner store, National Lottery & we can bet on most sports. The quiz channels IMHO is just another way to gamble (no guarantee to get on air or then give the answer they want).

[/quote]Yes but some of them are absolute muck in the way it's presented the fact some puzzles are really to difficult to solve
especialty meaning if it's not won but rolled over till the next day. To be honest the best one is Quizmania on ITV 1 (they are all there to make money) quizmania is fair gives good money
away,is entertaining, and quirky.

bye-bye men & motors you will be missed

A very sad day in the life of Freeview, M&M has gone, I looked at the details telling me that it was still on $ky, before I deleted it out of my EPG. At least I have free-sat, but I relaise many will not.

May I should reword my "tag-line" it's not just Murdoch & $ky who are the satans of TV, but the new devil joining them is ITV.

I am sure ITV will regret this day!

Iam sure it will be missed but for me too many repeat programmes as is many other 'Freeview' channels.Iam sure ITV (which M&M was part of ITV) could have thought of some thing better than another game show. I don't think i will be tuning in.

I too enjoyed Minder and The proffesionals But after they got to a certain point in the episodes  they seeemed to start  over again and never completed the full series.i feel this new intercative Ch is just a waste of freeview space IMO. These quiz type shows don't really seem  to be regulated in any way. They need to be tightly controlled. I can see Gamblers anoynomous having a large influx
of new members. Half the time the presnters of these shows don't seem to check the DOB of some players I was hooked my self for a period of time but managed to stop my self  before I got in to debt. i have heard old people some in the 80's ringing up at 3.00 to try and win some money. Freeview just seems to be a dumping ground for cheap poor quality programmes.
