Hi

I'm a newbie on here - just having a nose as to topics of conversation!

Just as a point of interest i do acting and background supporting artist work and was lucky enough to be a barmaid in one of the Inbetweeners episodes - at that time i hadn't heard of the show and i spent two days filming my scenes (only sadly i was edited out of the episode i was in - does happen sometimes lol) and at the time i have to say i was truely shocked and disgusted by the scenes i was in (Simon at a school disco being 'molested' by Holly - i think this was during the 'work expereince' episode) - i thought somehow i had ended up in some soft porn programme! - however i realise having now watched not only a full episode but indeed all the episodes, that it is brilliantly written and very funny! So have gone from being shocked to being a big fan!

Cheers

I quite like simon, found him annouying at first, but I think he gets funnier as the show goes on.

By the way don't think they are doing another series of inbetweeners,   so thank god they are doing a movie.  Smiley Grin Wink

They are all a bit old to make anymore. Was the funniest thing on TV for a while.

Those with the Virgin Media Tivo box may have seen recommendations for similar shows based on our viewing preferences such as our recordings in MY SHOWS etc.

Another point is that both Sky + HD and Virgin Media boxes allow us to do a keyword search for the actor or actress or programme title etc, so maybe we find similar programmes that way.

Furthermore, we now have more access to Catchup TV episodes for various shows and series and may have video on demand access as well. Sky + Anytime is now available with any Broadband ISP and has to be authorised to do this, see forum search for this info.

Inbetweeners is an American Teen series, so that category helps to find similar series. Sky is more likely to get US shows and Virgin Media packages have to be checked to find out which channels these appear on and even then we check if available on Freeview as well, if not now, then perhaps next year.

Please note the Inbetweeners has been created as the UK series as explained here:

http://lmgtfy.com

Search for Inbetweeners US TV series

This is a short lmgtfy.com URL rather than using a long Google URL here.

Ebay sends us emails with recommendations once we show an interest in a particular product or TV series, yet we also know that some prefer buying complete box sets instead of becoming Sky or Virgin Media subscribers. The play.com website offers free postage so we'd compare Ebay and Amazon with the play.com prices.

Another opportunity is youtube. If someone uploads an Inbetweeners clip, we may find that related programmes are recommended and can find other useful TV series that way... but remember to try keyword searches for the actors and actresses, too.

Since TV channels have their own websites, maybe they provide Comedy or Teen show categories to search for similar shows and programme details that way.

The satellite website Lyngsat provides the frequency settings for the Sky and Eurobird channels available. Each Channel name is also a text link to their websites, so we could check the websites based on these 3 webpages:

http://www.lyngsat.com/28east.html

http://www.lyngsat.com/eb1.html

http://www.lyngsat.com/packages/skyuk.html

Use the Ctrl and F shortcut to find a channel name on each webpage or Edit Menu, Find On Page.

Save webpages as favourites for future reference.

The eb1 webpage redirects here:
