Changes to services
Jun 17th, 2012 at 4:06pm

I considered downgrading eg from 60MB Broadband to 20MB Broadband and returning the V+ HD box that gets the same channels as the Tivo Recorder does. The V+ HD isn't a recorder, just a player, so to speak.

On calling 150, I discussed these queries and was told that the basic service of 20MB Broadband is now 30MB instead. I was also alerted to what the savings would be on cancelling as I wanted. About 30p a month saving because I was already receiving a discount and if I cancelled, I'd lose that and wouldn't gain anything by it.

On another point, I was told that if a customer is disabled, they could fill in a Disablement form entitling them to a 4-hour customer daytime service call if there were some equipment fault. I didn't know that and suggested that a lot of customers should be made aware of this extra customer care eg TV adverts, emails, posted brochures, website, forum, etc. Maybe it would help promote the VM company by providing more public awareness of this.

Those who visit the VM website may find things quicker if they add important webpages into some Internet Favourites folder.

Regardless of what the latest promotional deals are, a call to 150 could get a better deal.

I got posted some details after my recent upgrade advising me of a short term cooling-off period, so that's why I phoned VM on 150 and learnt I'm better off as I am but even if I'd downgraded, I'd be getting 30MB Broadband speed anyway.

Has anyone else on the 10MB speed been upgraded to 20MB and maybe it's now proved to be upgraded to 30MB speed?
