Fetch TV and shopto.net update

http://www.avforums.com/forums/17247244-post404.html

Page 14 of part 7 of the AV Forum provides info from Fetch TV about the sale to shopto.net and the reboot of their video-on-demand content and this info is what we see on visiting the online Fetch TV video-on-demand services.

To all FetchTV customers:

Many thanks for your patronage and support at FetchTV.

As you may know Fetch has recently been acquired by shopto.net, a leading UK online entertainment retailer. We are in the process of re-building FetchTV to deliver a broader range of entertainment across more devices, including set top boxes, connected televisions, PC and more. The service will be offline for the next two-three months while we make a range of improvements and integrate with ShopTo's existing systems.

In the meantime we will keep you advised by email of upcoming developments.

Once again, thank you so much for your support and please don't hesitate to email any queries, concerns or questions to:

Phone: 0844 318 1328

(calls cost 5p per minute. Calls from mobile phones and some networks may be higher)
or

customerservice
then the atsign then

There's a freephone Helpline number there...

0800 779 7777 but it isn't for telephone orders. Maybe they will accept calls about Fetch TV Smartboxes or provide some updates on their website.

Comparing prices online could help save money before the shopto.net services begin for Smartboxes.

Notice the downloads option is mentioned on the homepage already.

Perhaps more info will come in the Fetch TV email newsletters as before yet with trailers to assist us in our purchases.

Helpline/Support info:

No idea yet about existing Fetch TV programmes and TV and films and subscriptions. But if offline, then those who subscribe may get compensation or refunds. These inconveniences may be worthwhile, but I don't know if any Fetch TV company credits on our accounts still apply. Some boxes were sold with Fetch TV purchase credits.

Will outstanding account balances on the Fetch TV website continue online with our credit details? Perhaps to continue later on for the shopto.net orders? Or will we have to register again with shopto.net yet lose our Fetch TV credits?

The remaining Smartboxes were presumably sold off on the Ebay store that Fetch TV set up. I saved about £100 on the Smartbox 8000 from the Ebay store and as such qualified for an extended warranty cover upto 2 years upon registering the Smartbox on the Fetch TV website eg Manage Your Devices etc. I updated my credit details when emailed to do so and await further developments.

No Fetch TV services changes yet and no email updates either.

By the way, while the information is on the TV screen, there's a background picture and sound for the current TV channel. You may wish to switch to a blank TV screen with no sound before pressing MENU then FETCH TV from there.

This option is more helpful for those with 2 TV tuner set top boxes like the 8000 and HD8320, but the 7000 version offers just 1 channel at a time without a primary and a secondary channel being recorded.

Another option, is to press the PAUSE button before MENU and FETCH TV.

NB the BBC IPlayer catchup TV service is still available using shortcut 222.

In the meantime, aren't there enough resources to provide FETCH TV content eg films and tv shows and still create a separate website setup for shopto.net testing? Or is this merely a way of cancellation for FETCH TV with no extra revenue at all as before? Perhaps based on copyright issues to the former company not extended to shopto.net?

In any case, nearly a month has gone and FETCH TV customers have lost yet another set top box option after the cancellation of the SKY GO subscription access.

They might as well rename FETCH TV as BETCH TV as I betch ya don't know what's going on anymore.
