Double the broadband, double the fun
Even though my customers already have the UK's fastest broadband, they'll be able to have more fun tweeting, shopping, playing, video-chatting and watching HD movies if I double their speeds. So that's exactly what I'm doing for over 4 million Virgin Media broadband customers. Because I can.
My best engineers are upgrading the Virgin Media fibre optic network area by area. To find out when your area's going to be ready, just use the postcode checker below.
If you're one of my up to 100Mb customers, I reduced your monthly bill in April 2012 and now I'm going to boost you up to 120Mb as soon as your area's ready.

I mentioned before that when I upgraded from 10 MB, I was told of the increase to 20 MB yet it was decided to upgrade that to 30 MB overall. Since then, I upgraded to 60 MB prior to the August upgrade.
By the way, none of this has improved my access on yahoo's email service as I still wait the extra adverts and their stuff to load up before I can actually scroll down to view the email. I get faster access using the POPEEPER program that just loads the email itself, pictures etc. Sometimes with an external link to view the email contents online instead.
Graphics webpages may seem to load faster but that's probably because the images are already in the Temporary Internet Files folders. Once removed, we must start loading these afresh, so there will be extra delays at such times.
Other Internet resources include the website copier programs that download a single page or its extra linked contents or the whole website. These downloaders have extra filters to opt for images or video content or to exclude other files like css and html etc. Hit and miss at times, yet when the programs work well, they can help get lots of files quicker than manually loading page-by-page.
Another option is to load a webpage and choose File, Save As, Complete webpage eg for reading while offline.
