BBC iplayer problem (Read 247 times)

annie299 Newbie Offline Have you tried FrequencyCast yet? Posts: 2	BBC iplayer problem Sep 9^th, 2012 at 1:14pm I have recently changed to BT infinity broadband. Programmes were taking about 2 minutes to download, but this past week they are taking and hour and a half. I checked my download speed, switched everything off and on, but it makes no difference. Any suggestions please?

If the problem occured as soon as you switched to BT infinity then i would reccomend contacting them about it, basically ask if they have had any inherrent problems and complain.

Have your download speeds been slow in general or just BBCiplayer.

How to manually test your speed

Download 4 large files at once and add the speeds together this would give you your total download.

On bt infinity i would of though you where on about 40Mb at least.
(About a peak of 5MB/s Download spead) which is many times what is needed to use bbc iplayer.

Updating adobe air and bbc iplayer to the latest versions will get the best optimizations.

Uninstalled and reinstalled the I player as well. Have spoken to BT who say it's nothing to do with my download speed (which is 37.8) Programmes were downloading really quickly until about 3 weeks ago, nothing to do with BT Infinity which I've had for about 2 months.
