Today is Towel Day

People Of Earth. Your Attention Please!

Just a gentle reminder that today is, in fact, Towel Day.

International Towel DayWhat’s Towel Day?

A good question. It’s a day honoured by fans of The Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy to mark the passing of the Author, Douglas Adams, in 2001.

All fans of the classic radio series are required to carry a towel with them, because, as every traveller knows, a towel is the most staggeringly useful thing that it’s possible to carry.

At Radio and Telly, we urge those of you that are fans of the original radio series, or the subsequent books, TV series, text-based adventure game, and, yes, even the movie… to pay homage to HitchHikers. If you’re unwilling to carry a towel, give the radio series a listen. It’s available for download or online purchase, and you can find out more on our Hitchhikers Guide Tribute Page.

The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy was ground-breaking radio, and a classic. Spare a few moments to think good thoughts about the series, and maybe add a quote or two below!

Share and Enjoy!
