goodmans GDB5 box crashes    Post Date: Jul 21, 2006

Review:
I had a GDB5 for just over a year then it cut out and got stuck in a "restart to 88 percent/cutting out again" loop. Unplugging the power supply failed to help. The replacement box lasted 3 months and then developed the same fault. I am now waiting for a second replacement. I chose Goodmans as I have had excellent performance from a Goodmans TV/video set. I was also sold on the extra digital radio capability but the GDB5 appears to have a fundamental weakness. I have found Goodman's technical staff helpful though.

Panasonic TUCT41    Post Date: Jan 26, 2006

Review:
Personally I think this is a relatively good budget box. I've never owned one before but I do have alot of panasonic products and so thought I would give it a go. I only wish they'd kept the GUI side of things the same as my HDD/DVD Recorder that is also Panasonic.

The 'one' thing that annoys me is the recording. I have to set up the external link (through scart 2 on the freeview box) on my HDD/DVD Recorder to timer record from Freeview and although this works the EPG does not have PDC recording which means that if it overruns etc it doesn't record. Seems weird that it's on the Panasonic DVD/HDD Recorder but not the Panasonic Freeview box!

Still, pretty good and signal, personally, is very good. Not bad for £60:)

Review:
Absolutely useless! Always have to turn it on and off to stop the

sound going out of sync, but this only temporaily fixes it. Does

anybody know a better way of fixing this problem?
