Barber Review: After getting a replacement for my initial faulty item (see review of 04 Feb) the replacement has been working very well for about six weeks. Both boxes initially showed disk full and would no longer record after about six hours of recording from new, despite the bar showing 36 hours left. This was easily fixed by the menu option to reformat the hard disk. The second box also has a occasionally noisy hard disk. The noise can be irritating in a quiet room especially if sitting on a shelf which amplifies the noise. It is noticeable that the box does not have rubber feet on the bottom and I have managed to reduce the noise considerably by supporting on rubber feet, why Daewoo did not fit rubber feet or mount the hard drive on damped mounts surprises me. Overall despite the points mentioned above I am very happy and would even recommend this to others. Was this review helpful to you?   (Report this)

Picture quality good. The hard drive is noisy but does quieten down a little bit after a few minutes. A shame that batteries are not supplied for the remote, all you get in the box is the PVR, a user guide, remote control and a low quality scart lead. I was very impressed initially but now after 3 weeks the hard drive appears to be on the way out - Recordings are staring to freeze and stop during playback or the recording fails completely.
