DAB for a shaver socket....
Aug 9th, 2008 at 7:05pm

Hi,

Does anyone know if a DAB radio is available that can be plugged into a shaver socket?
Dont worry, the bath is miles away!

Thanks,

Darran

Darran, hope you are aware that a shaver socket is normally fed by a small isolating transformer.  The amount of power that can and is designed to be delivered is VERY small.

I would expect the draw by a radio (even a DAB radio) to be much less than a shaver which contains an electric motor and needs enough oomph to make those physical parts whiz round and shift the blades.  And what about heated curling tongs?  Even so consider newer DAB radios such as those from Roberts which use newer, more efficient, electronics with longer battery life.

In answer to the OP, why not just use an adaptor plug?
