Spent hours on this. Mother has 2 tv sets one in lounge near distributor and one a long way away in kitchen. Both tvs are Samsung.
The kitchen one signal/channels all fine.
The lounge one no signal!. Tried a tv of my own in lounge, no signal. Took her tv to my house, all fine.The distributor has 2 outlets and if I switch kitchen tv to other outlet it still works fine. Lounge one no signal still.
Distributor uses f plugs.
Have bought 3 ready made cables to go from distributor to to lounge tv and sane result, no signal.
What us going on.

Each cable can be replaced with the higher standard gold-plated cables set to different lengths, or if using adapters that join one cable to the next. I’ve used long cables and extension adapters. They worked K for a time, but I had to upgrade to use a single 30 Metre cable for upstairs and its TV. I also used the signal booster to improve the TV and Freeview channels.
I’ve even used the Sky+ HD set-top box to send the aerial-in signal out to the main cable to get a boosted signal. I’ve even used a Sky adapter from eBay to connect the Sky cable signal to that Sky adapter, then the patch output cable into the Sky+ set-top box. That boosts the TV aerial picture in the linked devices.
Some TV aerial signal boosters have extra signal power, such as inputs 1 and 2 rather than inputs 3 and 4, and I’ve tested these as well.
When I checked the Internet websites’ advice, I learned that the no signal result or fewer channels after a retune may depend on installing the latest version of the software beforehand. It may help to switch off a TV or a Freeview receiver after retuning and reconnect the electrical plugs after a few minutes. Leave the TV Guide to update and check the number of channels if needed to retune.
I still have some Sky+ set-top problems, so I reset it, let it restart for a few minutes and try again, waiting for the channels to return OK.
So it pays to have spare new cables for future testing and replacements.
Some extra options to consider. TV aerial splitter adaptors could be tested for signal quality purposes. These can join one signal’s input power to two output cables. Even if one strong signal gets reduced, it helps when the adapters prove that a faulty cable needs to be replaced. Or if an extra signal booster is required at the end of the weaker cable’s signal.
In any case, I know that some Freeview receivers, as the Netgem iPlayer, provide better signals than other receivers. That served as an extra workaround, and it helped me view the main TV and Radio channels.
