I have seen a few TV adverts and websites for Virgin Media customers or new customers. So I phoned 150 again to negotiate a better deal. This time I used the website chat to get this sorted based on current prices and long term discounts. A minum of 24 months would be affected if I ended my contract unless I got a better deal instead. I was offered 250 Mbps speed and the phone line rental. I got the £0 deal knowing it would naturally increase each April. To this deal could get increased to £34 then £38 the following April. During these increases, I would get an increased Pension and Disability benefit so the VM increases will get covered through these increased monthly payments. In effect, the £5 a month savings would be cheaper than what I could be paying such as £9 then up to £43.
I will be saving £120 on these extras. I have to remind myself that we pay Monopoly prices and above inflation contract increases, too. I recently learned of low paying jobs and that some companies pay more and called it a living wage. This is what they will be paying and what we will be charged extra for…
Some customers will keep the 200 Mbps speed but my new contract is 250 Mbps so that may prove to be helpful.
