I watched this episode, and it was a story told well enough. There were some amazingly professional high-class special effects and many explanations to help us keep up with what was happening. Wherever the Doctor turns up, there’s a backstory. This gives us the impression that a companion has a secret theme that gets unfolded episode by episode. If you think that the death scenes of falling heroes and heroines are exciting, then you miss the point of the companion’s compassion for her part in their downfall. She comes across as a medical nurse with an inbuilt duty complex to sacrifice herself to stop the slaughter.

:
For one character in this story, it was Sasha waste… and enough to make a Time Lord cry.
:
I’ve seen how the Doctor gets to react to the horrors of his adventures, I’ve seen the collateral damage, and I’ve even seen the Doctor cry. He doesn’t give up despite the tragedies. The mistakes are tragic, but the stakes are high, so he does what he can and motivates others. Some live, some die. He knows that well, but when he sees no other way, he leads them into battle, risking his life and theirs. He may regenerate, but they don’t.
:
Take it or leave it, this is the reality he faces now and then. He lives with it, they don’t. In this episode, we see how others blame his companion until she faces her part of the blame based on circumstances beyond her control. Calling these circumstances timey-wimey doesn’t change the solemn outcomes.
:
In this story, we learn of an extra situation called melding with someone else and entering into that person’s timeline. That changes the Doctor into his positive-thinking approach to life yet again. So this new season has changed the companion story into another Mystery Tour.
:
It’s like the Doctor saying, I’m special, you’re special…

Some can access the BBC iPlayer and see it for UHD picture quality. For so much eye candy as this show presented, that must be wonderful on a large screen TV. I’m going red, blue and green with envy…
:
Check Google for UHD TVs and devices. Visit TV showrooms for on-site demos. Then decide if you want to go bankrupt or not.

I watched episode 2 about a mysterious cinema in which people went missing.
The companion’s I wanna go home theme was changed to What could it hurt to investigate? From then on, her life was put in danger until finally the whole thing turned around, and ended up lucky for one and all. The Disney cartoon and musical situation was unusual, but still made the story worth watching.

The third episode is about a mysterious evil that attaches itself to a human who has killed someone. It turns out this is set thousands of years into Man’s future, and the Doctor has to figure out what to do as every clue unravels in the story. So we see different ways to help others in distress. The Doctor tries to overcome the increased aggravations from those he tries to protect. It’s a sad example of humans in distress making decisions they won’t live long enough to regret. The story is claustrophobic, similar to the Alien films and as darkly lit as the X-Files TV stories. So some TVS won’t display such scenes as clearly as we may appreciate.
Even the ending makes us wonder if things went well… or not so much…

The 4th episode was scary and not suitable for children. It contained scenes of terror and violence. Even so, it was an important story because it highlights how we must have protectors in a strange universe with aliens popping up uninvited.
The return of the Doctor’s companion Ruby Sunday led to a podcast interview leading to a romance that didn’t turn out to be a loving relationship after all.
We were then led into an information war against UNIT, the defence organisation that works with the Doctor. In today’s world, content is king, so the information war requires live footage shared around the world. Security is then compromised and the monster threat really begins.
This is the proof required that the aliens threat is real. Humanity is under threat every second of every day. That’s why Area 51 exists even if just to test military aircraft now and then.
Considering how the media was used to provide news reports is something else. Twists and turns every minute in this episode and the volume needs adjusting now and then as that increased suddenly and it was annoying more than scary.
So this show wasn’t one for the kiddies and there should have been a warning to let viewers know this before the story becomes violent. Next week’s episode is about a giant spider so that’s another way to put viewers off!

I noticed several positive, in-depth YouTube videos and helpful reviews about this episode. Many comments showed useful background story details.
There was an extra comment that the Time Lady Jodie Whittaker would return at the end of Season 2. That led to a mixed reaction yet again.
The lowest viewing figures were reported, and some have commented on YouTube that millions of the show’s previous viewers missed out on a great episode.
Maybe they won’t care what others say about the series.

Now the Doctor thinks there’s a way to speed up getting his companion back home. He visits a city and his old friends. Once with them, he learns they are held captive, and so is he. Stories help get the space vessel further along the journey. However, the villain has revenge on his mind. The story unravels, and eventually, he can’t hold on to his hatred any longer. This repentance changed the journey completely and got the captives back on Earth again.
The main plot explained one person’s desire to kill the gods of Mankind, but the Doctor suggests that it’s impossible to achieve and keep Mankind existing now. So the realisation sinks in. One person would lose his closest friends if he continued. Thankfully, we didn’t see the SPIDER for long, so it didn’t overwhelm the story.
