The Boat That Rocked
Information on the British film comedy set in the world of 1960s UK pirate radio
Here at Radio and Telly, we loved this film. From the pen of Richard Curtis (Four Weddings, Notting Hill, Blackadder), this is a comedy set aboard Rock Radio, a fictitious pirate radio station moored off the UK coast in the 1960s, presumably based loosely on Radio Caroline.
With a cast of top comedy talent, this film is a hoot. The film was released in April 2009, and appeared on DVD in September 2009.
