New Freeview Channel, TBA

Posted on 14 February 2011 By Radio&Telly 70 Comments on New Freeview Channel, TBA

Freeview LogoA new channel has appeared on the Freeview channel list. Enigmatically just called “TBA”, we have no info on what this new service will be, although from the mail in to us here, it seems hopes are high that we could be in for a new channel, and not just another shopping or +1 channel.

For the technically-minded, “TBA” is on channel 45, multiplex D, with the message “New Channel Coming Soon”

We’ll keep you updated on that TBA’s up to when we know more.

Any thoughts or requests? Add ’em below…

Is Freeview in trouble? We seem to be losing lots of decent channels like Channel One which have a good mix and also programmes we have already started watching like V the new series, Chuck and many more. There should be laws to stop another channel poaching programmes, if they didn’t buy it first time then tough!

TbA.. channel.. that may be a news channel or something like that but it may also be another shopping or quiz channel.. what ever happend to bigdeal the channel is their but nothing shows on it now.. freeview should remove all babestation channels.. and change them to a channels like music drama and bring back some movie channels like film4 maybe tcm or men and motors or something in them lines.. also rabbit chat channel remove it its a big rip of people paying to chat on that 50p a message if people use their heads you can buy the net on your phone and chat all month for nowt use your brains not your pockets!moan over have a nice day lol

Does anyone know what Channel 90 is on Freeview? According to my Channel List
it is called TV News, and is operated by Cellcast, the people behind the
Babestation channels. All I get when I try to access the channel is a message
    ‘Back soon!’

hi there. channel 90, freeeview, tv news !!!!!!!!!!! it in fact operates early hours of morning here and there also once there was a TV NEWS 2. it is a couple of hour recycling stream and is basically news relative to the entertainment industry,. ie gossip, news, view, reviews, etc. to more to the point what do you think 45 will be. i personally think it will be UK GOLD as if you look on the programme guide it is few evening hours nowadays as if readying for change. hope this helps. LIVE LONGER & PROSPER!!!!!!!!

I think they should bring back sky sports news, Even if its only fra few hours a day… I hope thats whats on this new channel, Either that or a good new channel and not another crappy +1 or Timeshift channel! But what I REALLY think freeview needs is a movie channel like true movies. Prehaps someone could make one called freeview movies and give sky movies a run for there money :L

It could be a UKTV channel possibly G.O.L.D and it could be the reason why not launched due to contactual issues with Top Up TV causing the delay. There was a channel up for tender from BBC/Aquiva

Just to say I hope the new channel on freeview 45 TBA is another music channel such as VH1 classic because telly can be very boring on Sunday afternoons, but when the channel suddenly appeared the screen and as I flicked through what it was to be and as I read the details on screen me thinks that the new channel could by Five Usa pluss because what shows I saw were Law & Order ,but as I just said, let it be VH1 classic because some viewers are not fortunate enough to get VH1 classicand in the past I have seen what VH1 classic transmits and I am impressed by what I have seen.

Hi Simon, thanks for the info about Channel 90.
As for 45, I hope you are right about UK Gold.
That would be great. Alternatively, a channel
devoted to ‘Star Trek’ would be good as well!!!

TBA stands for Touched By An Angel. it’s a christian channel which broadcasts christianity through the much loved episodes of how God’s angels (yes there are evil ones too) work in our lives, demonstrating the love of God to human kind.
I blessed the Lord that TBA is coming soon to Freeview, having been so far only on Sky.

    Mat God bless them all

I was bloody anoid when sky decided to remove channel one from freeview. Whether they own the rights or not, it was unfair and unjustified to us all. I can’t watch voyager now! Not everyone can afford sky especially in these difficult times when people are losing jobs and struggling to survive. Tba will no doubt be a shopping or another adult channel, it’s inevitabe it will happen. I mean let’s face it, sky are messing up freeview telly and there’s no sign that’ll change. Bring back star trek you thieving b*****ds.

I wouldn’t like to see another +1 channel although I have found them useful lately on a Monday night but I would be happy to see something like TCM on freeview or one of the Disney channels might be fun. Personally I don’t like sport [I know it is popular with others mind you] so I wouldn’t like to see another sports channel that I would not watch or another shopping channel [ditto]. I agree with some of the other posters about Channel 1. I really liked that one and used to watch quite regularly. I doubt any of us will be pleased, no matter what they put out. Lately some of the changes have just been arbitrary and pointless
