Tiscali TV (formerly Homechoice)

Broadband provider Tiscali merged with Homechoice in March 2007, creating the digital TV service, Tiscali TV.

What is Tiscali TV?

Tiscali TV is the service that until March 2007 was known as Homechoice, Tiscali TV uses your existing phone line to deliver over 75 digital TV channels, movies on demand, and broadband Internet. Rather than having to pay for digital TV, broadband and your phone company - you can get all of these services for a single low monthly fee.

Tiscali TV is only available in certain parts of the UK. These areas include:

London
Birmingham
Liverpool
Leicester
Wolverhampton
Salford
Stevenage
Milton Keynes
Warrington

The company has announced plans for a UK-wide service in the future.

When you sign to Tiscali TV, you're supplied with a special decoder box with connect to your phone line and TV. Once connected, you then have access to digital TV, plus their other services.

Tiscali TV offers over 80 channels of digital TV, over 1000 on-demand movies, over 5000 music videos, hundreds of TV series, and a TV rewind service. Digital TV channels include:

Sky One, Sky Two, Sky Three, Paramount Comedy, UK Gold, the Sci-Fi channel, BBC Three, E4, More4, ITV2, ITV3, ITV4, Film4, Discovery, National Geographic, Chelsea TV, Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network, CBeebies, Sky Sports, Sky Movies, and more.

With Tiscali TV, as well as TV and movies, you can also get up to 8Mb broadband and free phone calls to UK landlines, offering savings over other Internet and phone providers.

How do I get Tiscali TV?

If you're in the London / M25 area, take a look at tiscali.co.uk/tv to see if you're in their TV and Broadband coverage area.

When you order your account, you'll arrange an appointment for an engineer to call to get everything connected for you.

Alternatives

Tiscali TV is not available in all parts of the UK. If you're looking for an Internet-based service that's available to a larger part of the UK - Take a look at BT Vision or Virgin Media.

Tiscali TV+ PVR

You can now get a PVR (digital recorder) for use with Tiscali TV. The PVR can hold 50 hours of TV. It has the ability to record up to three things at once - a digital stream of TV-over-Internet, as well as two Freeview channels (if you connect the box to a TV aerial). Record TV-over-Internet onto the PVR and play back on your telly. The PVR is available now for £50, on top of the £20 a month subscription. More at tiscali.co.uk/tv
