Bravo - TV Channel No Longer Broadcasting

On this page, we look at what happened to popular UK TV channel Bravo, which ceased broadcasting in January 2011.

Bravo Logo

The Bravo TV channel launched in 1985 and was one of the first UK satellite TV services to be available on the Sky Satellite / Astra system. The channel was aimed squarely at men in their twenties and thirties, offering a mix of US imports, action and sci-fi series.

The channel was a part of the Living TV portfolio of channels, and was sold by Virgin Media Television to BSkyB in 2010. In September 2010, Sky announced that the channel, plus sister channel Bravo 2, would soon close.

The two Bravo TV channels finally went off-air on the 1st of January 2011. The last day of programming included World's Strongest Man, Sun, Sea and A&E, Brit Cops, Dog the Bounty Hunter, Most Shocking, Pimp and Danny Dyer's Deadliest Men

Until its demise, Bravo was on Sky channel 123 and Virgin Media channel 136.

Thanks for entertaining us for so many years Bravo - we'll miss you!
